Wow. The depth and emotion packed into this quick read is truly what sets this book apart from the first book.
This book begins a few years after Priest left off. Tyler and Poppy are married, but are struggling dealing with their own issues.
Tyler is still trying to find the happy medium between Tyler and Father Bell. Whereas the first book seemed to be mostly about sex, this book goes into the heart of what makes Tyler tick. He is consumed with guilt about many things in his life and is in desperate need of finding solace before he loses not only Poppy, but his sanity as well.
Although I disliked Poppy immensely in the first book, you get to see a side of her in Midnight Mass that makes her very relatable and likable.
Without giving any spoilers, just know that their relationship is tested in many ways throughout this read and it is absolutely gut-wrenching to hear Tyler's guilt ridden and self blaming thoughts during these times.
This was such an amazing read and I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a little more Father Bell in their lives.
