I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this book! This is my first read from this author and I honestly didn't know what to expect. Having said that, I am very glad I agreed to review this book, because I totally enjoyed it!

what I liked
-The heroine, Marla, was a total badass. I LOVED her and her 'take no shit' attitude. She had these great one-liners that she used on her captors that were so hilarious, that I literally laughed out loud. After being discovered to have killed one of the captors, one of the other ones came into the room. Instead of begging for mercy, she looks at him and says something along the lines of 'you're next' to him. Totally amazing.
-As many of you know, I LOVE me some dark reads. This one was definitely dark and I loved every second of it.
-The author did a great job at describing the different settings that Marla found herself in. I could picture each and every room she was in with great clarity.
-I found myself rooting for Marla from the beginning. In a lot of these 'kidnapping romances', I find the heroines to be so annoying that I honestly would think to myself 'ugh, would they just kill this bitch already?' But that was NOT the case with Marla.

what I didn't like
-The hero, Gabriel. Didn't like him at all. He had no redeeming factors and I honestly wanted better for our kick-ass heroine. I felt like he was her weakness, and not in a good way.
-I felt that some of the book was a little too wordy for me. Some of the scenarios could have easily been described in a page, but instead stretched on for many.

That being said, I really did enjoy this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good kidnapping romance and especially to anyone who likes their books nice and dark !

K. Webster can do no wrong. There, I've said it. Let it be known across Goodreads and various book blogs that this woman is a fucking amazing writer and I have YET to read a book of hers that didn't make me want stand and start a slow clap at the end of it.


The book is centered around Harley and Taylor. In an attempt to get more notoriety for her show, Taylor Talk, Taylor agreed to marry a stranger for three months and film their relationship on television. Harley, a survivalist, signs up for the show as a way to mend the broken heart he had that was caused by a previous relationship. The two couldn't be any more different. Harley (as Taylor calls him) is a bull in a china shop whereas Taylor is extremely OCD about everything.

Harley knows from the beginning that they will work and they will be together forever- it's Taylor that needs the convincing. So how does he convince her? Why, using his amazing sexual prowess, of course! Which leads to some SUPER steamy scenes that make me SUPER flushed just thinking about. Then the unthinkable happens, a country-wide terrorist attack wipes out the power in the country and all that is left for people to do is learn to survive and wait it out. Can Taylor survive not only the terrorist attack, but Harley as well?

Loved this book and I cannot wait for the next one! :-)

LOVED this book. This book goes so much further than the typical kidnapping books I have read. It's very rare that you come across a book of this genre where BOTH of the characters (not just the kidnapper) have some deep seeded issues that need to be brought to the surface. I felt remorse for both Alex AND Rafe as the events of the book play out and their secrets come to light. Great book.

Holy shit. Let me just start off by saying that this series just gets better and better! I feel like I have been waiting on baited breathe for this book since finished Rampant, and let me tell you- his book did NOT disappoint me in the least! It's equally, if not more, darker than Rampant- which is ALWAYS a plus for me! Not to mention the many twists and turns in the book that have you wondering which of the many characters you have gotten to know throughout the series are actually who you thought they were!

This book had so many quotable lines, I really couldn't pick just one of favorite quotes. So I compiled a list! Enjoy!

OMG. What an emotionally charged ending to this amazing series. At this point, it's safe to say that the reader knows Rafe and Alex like the back of their hands. You've come to love this couple and to see them go through the final test of their love is truly bittersweet. I am going to miss reading about this amazing couple!

The book opens to a very depressed Alex who is mourning the loss of Rafe. She finds herself, yet again, having to pick up the pieces of her life and try to move past the heartbreak.

"Time hadn't dulled the pain, hadn't eased the betrayal of abandonment. I'd finally accepted he was gone, and that meant I had nothing left to do but live."

Without giving away any spoilers, just know that this couple is not finished fighting for each other. The inner demons that chips away at them comes to light in this book and it makes for a very emotional read. Rafe still believes that Alex is too good for the likes of him, and Alex still holds on to the memory of the mistake that she made years before that changed the kind boy she loved into the intense and angry man that he is today.

"The worst decision of my life had ricocheted for years, not only destroying Rafe but the lives of so many others."

We've seen this couple overcome MANY obstacles, but the biggest test lies in this book. Can love truly conquer all? Or is the burning need for revenge be what destroys them? You are just going to have to read and find out!

HOLY SHIT. I read this book two days ago and I have yet to be able to get rid of the book hangover this book caused.

Maddox and Alylee are the embodiment of tortured souls. Maddoxs' past scarred him for life. Maddox and his twin brother Noah grew up in a house of horrors, but only Noah seemed to move past it. The story begins with their past and it sets the stage for the reader to be able to truly understand the 'present' Maddox. He is a crude man-whore who views women as nothing more than dollar signs and a good time in bed. I hated him in the beginning. It wasn't until he recognized the familiar pain in Aylee's eyes, that he starts to truly become a man worthy of 'book boyfriend' status.

When we first meet Aylee; she is living her own real-life nightmare. She finds solace in drawing and cutting herself. It is heartbreaking hearing her inner thoughts in the beginning of the book. She feels that the only way to let out the pain is by dragging a razor around her body.

This book is BEAUTIFULLY written. It is hands down, one of the most beautifully written books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. You feel the pain that the characters feel and you are INSTANTLY drawn into the dark world that these two find themselves in. Throughout the book you will cringe. You will cry. You will laugh. and lastly, you WILL swoon.

A word of caution, however: It is a VERY dark, disturbing, and emotional read. Major trigger warnings here!!

If you have yet to read a book by Francette Phal, I suggest you do. Once again, her work has blown me away.

Endless Love Letter by Callie Anderson

The most beautiful smile was present on Emilia's face. She was lighting up the darkness that lived inside of me."

Ah. I have been struggling for days wondering how to write a review about this book that was void of any and all spoilers. To explain this book and how much it absolutely touched the deepest part of my soul would require the reader of this review to be spoiled. So here is what I was about to come up with...

This book was heartbreaking, emotional, and yet utterly touching and romantic- all at the same time.
It restored my faith in second chances at love.
It completely changed my opinion of Emilia- who I deeply disliked in the first book.
It made my feelings towards Weston just that much stronger.

In this book, we see love tested in the most difficult way possible. It's not easy to read about, but it plays such a crucial part in understanding the love that Weston has for Emilia. We stick by those we love, through thick and thin.

There isn't much else I can say without spoiling the book, so I will just leave you with a warning: Have many many many tissues handy for this read!

Incapable by Marie Skye

So although I finished this book a week ago, I have been struggling with what to rate this. So here is why I ended up giving this book 3.5 stars...

What I liked:
*Grayson was great. He was a hot alpha male and he definitely found his way onto my book boyfriend list of 2016.
* Emmalin made a great heroine. Although she was submissive, she did fight for what she felt was right and wrong in terms of their relationship.
*Great sex scenes in this book. Super steamy!
*The cliffy at the end was pretty good. Did not see it coming and it made me wonder how it will play out in the next book.

What I didn't like:
*I had a VERY hard time keeping up with who was talking. In one paragraph, there were as many as 5-6 back and forth conversations happening...super confusing.
*I found MANY grammatical errors while reading. Not sure if the book is still in beta or not as of 1/20/16. If it is, please ignore this!
*I found this to be a jumbled mess at times. First the book reads as a typical romance, but then changes into something I didn't feel fit into the book at all. (view spoiler)[The BDSM came out of NO WHERE! All of the sudden we find out our alpha male hero is a major dominant and borderline sadist. It really didn't belong in the book. Also, if we are truly to believe that Emmalin was abused when she was younger, I seriously DOUBT she'd be okay being whipped and begging for pain...) (hide spoiler)]
*Read a lot like a 50 Shades fan fiction book...which is a major no-no for me! It even includes the "you don't play fair" quote multiple times in the book!

Will I read the next book? Probably. I do want to see where the author takes that crazy cliffhanger!

CAUTION: UNPOPULAR OPINION REVIEW AHEAD!

ARGH! I hate writing these reviews, I really do. I know all of the blood, sweat, and tears authors put into these books and I feel like I am basically stepping on all of that by expressing my opinion.

That being said, a lot of things in this book didn't work for me...

1. The hero and heroine had the worst case of insta-lust I have ever seen. This leads me to believe one thing- both characters are clearly unhinged.
2. It takes 7 pages for the author to describe what the heroine thinks when she first see's our hero. SEVEN PAGES! Seven pages of "omgggg my panties are wet!" and "omggggg he looks so good!" (not direct quotes!)
3. The hero is CREEPY AS FUCK! He meets her, wants her, programs his phone number into her phone without her knowing, and demands a date. This is within their first meeting. And he get's even creepier from there. SUPER obsessed and SUPER controlling. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love those alpha male types- but this one bordered on psychotic.
Everything about you is my business now. You want to pretend like we don't have something between us? Fine. I'll take care of everything. You just keep breathing..."
This was after their first date.
4. The heroine (view spoiler)[orgasms from the sound of his voice. yep... (hide spoiler)]

But I have to admit, the sex scenes were pretty steamy and detailed. That's what prevented this book from being a one-star.

I wish nothing but the best for this author in their future endeavors and I am not one to give up on an author based on one 'not so good' book.

Edge of Chaos by Molly E. Lee

OMG. What an amazing debut novel.
Take the movie Twister (1996), add in a pinch of domestic abuse and a sexy hero who saves the day...and VOILA! You Have Edge of Chaos!

What I LOVED about this book:
*The author did an amazing job at twisting together the tornado theme with Blake's emotions. "Tears finally trailed down my cheeks, the pressure of the world building around me like a supercell"
*The emotional abuse that Blake endured from Justin was VERY accurately portrayed. To those who have never experienced emotional abuse from someone you love, Justin may seem a bit over-the-top. But that's the point isn't it? The author WANTS you to yell at your kindle, screaming "WHAT THE HELL! LEAVE HIM ALREADY!" But hearing Blakes thought process throughout the whole thing makes her come off like less of a doormat, and more of a girl that is clearly trapped. Justin uses guilt to trap Blake into their toxic relationship and I found my heart breaking for her the entire book.
*Hail the bulldog. Enough said.
*Dash. Omg, Dash. What an amazing amazing hero in that he truly saves her- in every way. He is completely aware of the game Justin is playing with Blake and he approaches the subject with care and concern, not anger and judgement. That's why I believe he gets through to her when no one else can. That, and he's sexy as hell.
"He ripped you apart, Blake. And I know this sounds horribly...guy of me, but let me help put you back together."
"Someone has to save you sometimes, since you're constantly doing it for someone else."
*The tornado scenes were INTENSE! WHEWW!
*I loved the relationship between Blake and Dash. The connection they have with each other and their love for tornadoes set this book apart from a lot of other romance novels I have previously read.

I finished this book with a HUGE grin on my face. I still am in awe that this was a debut novel. Seriously, it was THAT good. I cannot wait to see what else Molly E. Lee writes in the future!

After I read books that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED, I always seem to have a hard time keeping my reviews completely spoiler free. Due to the fact that I really don't want to give anything away because you REALLY need to read and experience this book on your own, I've decided to do it in the least 'spoileriffic' way possible- a quick rant of just how much I loved this book.

I think it goes without saying that Molly E. Lee can do no wrong. She has this uncanny ability to create such depth, emotion and heart stopping adventure in her books, that you almost forget you are reading a romance novel. (Yes, there are steamy scenes...don't worry.) Easton and Rain are both struggling to move on from their pasts; pasts that involve their love for one another and the untimely death of someone they both loved dearly. Just like her first novel Edge of Chaos, the main characters are very complex. The guilt that eats away at Easton and the heartache that plagues Rain is felt by the reader throughout the novel. You can literally feel a pressure on your chest while you are reading their inner monologues in regards to their emotions.

Overall, I really loved this book. Molly E. Lee truly is a force to be reckoned with and I cannot wait to see what her next book entails!

Ah! Loved this book!

So the story plot is as follows- an eccentric, rich and womanizing man named Richard is looking to leave his old job after being passed up for the role of their new partner. In order for him to go to the new company, he needs to prove to his potential new boss that he has left his playboy ways behind him and currently in love with a woman. Richard and his associate come up with a plan to convince his assistant, Katharine, to go along with his ploy.


Katharine (great name, if I do say so myself!), is far from Richards' "type". The thought of pretending to LOVE each other is something difficult for both of them. She finally accepts his proposal to be his fake fiancé thanks to the huge paycheck that comes with the job. Katharine is having a hard time keeping up with the ever-growing fee to keep her Aunt in a nice nursing home.


I loved Katharine. She was such a headstrong woman and doesn't take crap from anyone- especially not Richard.

"Well, it seemed I now had a fiancé. I was engaged to a man who disliked me, but was willing to try to overlook it, so he could get a new job and piss off his old boss. Certainly, that was the stuff that dreams were made of."

She was a witty, smart, and totally shares the same distain for Richard as he does for her. The two of them bump heads many times throughout this book, and I absolutely loved it. Katharine takes NO shit from Richard and in turn, Richard finds himself confused about the mousy and shy woman that he originally thought she was.


Richard was difficult to like in the beginning. I kept muttering to myself "ugh, what a dick" during many of his snarky remarks to Katharine. But like many alpha males, I slowly grew to love him, just like Katharine! You follow their relationship from the beginning and you truly fall in love with him right along with her. Her emotions and feelings very much mimicked how I would be feeling throughout most of the book and it made her character quite relatable.

I must warn you though. There is one scene in this book that literally had me sobbing. Prepare to ugly cry. Prepare to ugly cry so hard that it puts Kim Kardashians ugly cry face to SHAME!

Melanie Moreland outdid herself with this book. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE all of her novels, but this one was so different from the others. As soon as I heard the premise of this book, I KNEW I had to read it. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review this book, Ms. Moreland!

What I liked:
*Torrin. OMG. Torrin. Hands down one of the most swoon-worthy book boyfriends I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. Everything he did and said to Jade pulled at my heart strings.
*The captivity scenes in the book were very well written and you truly felt the pain and loneliness that Jade felt.
*The scenes when (view spoiler)[ Jade goes to her kidnapper's grave. Very well done. You truly saw her change during these scenes and they gave a lot of insight into what she was mentally dealing with at the time. (hide spoiler)]

What I didn't like:
*Jade's resistance towards Torrin for MOST of the book. I get that he's a (view spoiler)[priest (hide spoiler)] and all, but COME ON GIRL! THIS MAN DOES EVERYTHING RIGHT! GIVE INTO HIM, DAMMIT! For someone who feels they are judged based off of the scar 'collar' she wears, she sure does give a lot of power and judgement towards (view spoiler)[ his collar (hide spoiler)] and that did nothing but piss me off.
*The ending. I wouldn't call it an HEA per say...idk...it depends on who you ask, really.

Overall, good book. Lots of sexual tension...which is always a plus!

Waking Olivia by Elizabeth O'Roark

You know what I love? I love it when I read a book that is COMPLETELY different from many of the other romance novels I have read. Waking Olivia fits that to a T!

Our heroine, Olivia, is an amazing runner who made a name for herself at her previous school-and not a good name at that. Known for her explosive temper and her seemingly spotty talent, Olivia transfers to a new school and is immediately disliked by the sexy track coach, Will.

Will see's Olivia for the first time and immediately knows she is trouble. Judging her purely based on her looks and her past discrepancies, Will makes life hell for Olivia- both on and off the track field.

"If I were being reasonable, I'd say I couldn't blame them. Olivia isn't just beautiful. Something compels you to look at her even when you don't want to, like Medusa. The difference is that I realize Olivia could probably turn you to sone with her withering glare, while the rest of the these idiots are completely blind to it."

Wills' distain for Olivia takes a turn one faithful night when he see's her doing something that she couldn't deny or lie about the next day (which is something she was famous for). She is then forced to spill her "secret" to him and from there its a whirlwind romance that ultimately ends with our hero being just that- a hero.

What I loved most about this book was the banter between Will and Olivia. Both characters are witty and created so many one-liners that are SO hilarious!
"You're attractive. That's all I was saying."
A tiny warmth weaves its way through me. It shouldn't. I should't care what he thinks.
"I'm attractive, huh?"
He walks away. "Don't worry, your personality ruins it..."

I seriously loved this book. It is so much for than an 'enemies turned lovers' romance and I truly hope all who are reading this review will one-click this book immediately!

What I loved:
*Lainey. Omg. That woman was SO damn funny and relatable. She is hands down one of my favorite book heroines. The amount of 'face-palms' I did during the book were too numerous to count. She was just such a klutz...and I loved it.
* The 'clothing funeral' that Lainey threw with her friend after the elevator "ate" her favorite Chanel cardigan.
"Another tradition we started in high school was clothing funerals. Whether a fashion trend died before we were ready to let go (I will never get over the baggy jeans fad) or something was beyond repair, we'd honor our favorite outfits by giving them a proper good-bye"
*How Lainey took the RIDICULOUS rules Brogan gave to his employees and made her own rules for her life.
*Brogan. oh mannnn Brogan. He was a complicated man, but damn, I loved him.
*The sexual tension between Brogan and Lainey.

What I didn't love:
*Despite the huge amount of sexual tension between the heroine and hero, there were no explicit sex scenes to go along with it. This might just be a matter of personal opinion, but I like my romance books to be hot and steamy.
*The ending felt a bit rushed to me.

I would definitely recommend this book to all of my fellow romance junkies. There is nothing more refreshing than finding a heroine that you actually DON'T want to slap every ten seconds! This is definitely one of the funniest romances I've read!

Snowbound by C.J. Martín

Overall, this was a cute and light romance novel. It was surprisingly well written considering it was from a debut author!

The hero, Vik, was sexy and broody (just how I like my book boyfriends) and the heroine, Elena, was very funny and very relatable. There was definitely huge amounts of sexual tension, but the whole push and pull between them got old. Another thing about this novel that really irked me was Viks nickname for Elena- Gigs; short for giggles. I'm sorry, but it was hard to take anything Vik said to or about Elena seriously when he called her Gigs. He clearly liked Elena and all, it's just that the nameGigs doesn't really evoke much passion or seriousness when heard.

This book was not really my cup of tea, but I can definitely see how other people enjoyed the book.

I wish nothing but the best for this author and I do look forward to reading her future work. :-)

Whew! What a crazy ride! Dark, sexy and dirty...just how I love my books!

The heroine, Kyle, returns home to attend the funeral of a childhood friend. Having fled her hometown without telling anyone after the murder of a friend's brother, she was less than happy to return. Upon arriving home, she see's the man who she fell in love with 12 years earlier, and still loves- Garin. Returning home opened up many wounds that she tried to cover up by leaving, and threatens to reveal her biggest secret. A secret that would destroy everything she fought so hard to keep hidden. It isn't until Kyle and Garin are taken captive that she truly see's the price of what her lies will cost her. Not only will it cost her, but Garin as well.

Overall, I loved the darkness of this book. Why did I give this book 4 stars instead of 5? Well, I did see a lot of the twists coming. (view spoiler)[ I knew something was up with Garin. I had a gut feeling that he had something to do with the kidnapping. And when she awoke from her "coma", I totally saw right through Garin's excuse as to why he had no scars from their ordeal. (hide spoiler)] Aside from that, I was pleasantly surprised with this book. There aren't many kidnapping romance novels like this one, at least none that I have heard of!

I will definitely be checking out more from this author in the future :-)

Whew! What a crazy and amazing ride! I absolutely LOVED this book!

The book centers around our heroine, Sadie, an underwater preservation specialist and our hero, Connell, an underwater welder. Sadie is completely enamored with her preservation site The Falconer, a sunken WWII ship. She is convinced that the rare seagrass that grows in the center of the ship will be the key to cure many diseases. She hits a bit of a snag when a tycoon named Slade decides to build his underwater pipeline right threw her site. Enter our hero, Connell. Connell works for Slade and was hired by him to 'get to know' Sadie and give her two months to 'convince' him that the site is worth more than it would cost to re-route the pipeline. The problem is, Connell is drawn to the many dollar signs that Slade flashes in front of him to make sure the pipeline goes through her site, as promised.

The more Connell gets to know the amazing woman that is Sadie, the more Connell falls for her. Will his draw to Sadie be worth more to him than millions of dollars? You will have to read to find out!

I loved Sadie. Molly has a way of creating such amazing heroines who are strong and totally relatable. And Connell...poor Connell! Haunted by demons from his past, he is such a lost soul until he meets Sadie. It's nice to see a heroine rescue the hero, and not the other way around!

My favorite part of the book? The mentioning of previous characters from her other books ( Edge of Chaos (Love on the Edge) and East of Redemption ) ! Totally LOVED that. Such a great touch! :-)

Well Miss Moreland, you have done it again! Although I am SO not a fan of insta-love between the main characters, this book was just so sweet and adorable, that I couldn't help but have my own insta-love moment...with this book!

And Daniel, GAHHH so swoon-worthy. Such a start contrast from Richard in The Contract! This just goes to show Miss Moreland's ability to create different types of heroes in each of her books. Where Richard was a domineering alpha-male, Daniel was the complete opposite; he was just so damn perfect.

It's nice to read a sweet and romantic book every now and again to break up the somewhat monotonous and drama filled romances that seem to flood this genre.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a break from the every day stressors in their lives and are looking to just get lost in a quick and adorably romantic read.
